Dana Morris, PhD

Psychologist

Christina Scully, MD

Dr. Morris earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Western Michigan University. She completed her predoctoral internship at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System (American Lake Division) and her postdoctoral fellowship in general mental health through the Providence VA and The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Prior to joining SCP, Dr. Morris worked as a licensed psychologist in a partial hospital program where she provided intensive treatment for adults experiencing high-acuity presentations such as suicidal ideation, severe mood and anxiety disorders, and complex overlapping diagnoses.

Clinically, Dr. Morris identifies as a generalist with expertise in mindfulness- and acceptance-based behavioral therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and acceptance-enhanced exposure-based treatments. She tailors these interventions to each client’s unique goals and needs, fostering a collaborative, compassionate, and nonjudgmental therapeutic space. She is especially passionate about helping clients build meaningful values-centered lives and develop a more open and self-compassionate relationship with their emotions rather than responding with fear or avoidance.

Her research interests focus on improving treatment outcomes and service delivery. In her free time, she enjoys rock climbing, hiking, reading, painting, cross stitching, and spending time with people she loves.
