Lizzy Byrnes is a licensed mental health counselor who graduated from the University of Rhode Island with her B.A. in Psychology and Spanish, and from Northeastern University with her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Lizzy has provided treatment in various levels of care, including partial hospital, intensive outpatient, and home-based settings. She completed her internship at Gateway Healthcare on the Child and Family Therapeutic Outreach team specializing in treating eating disorders with evidence-based interventions. Lizzy has previously worked at Bradley Hospital and Butler Hospital treating OCD and anxiety disorders in both children and adults. She has also worked in PHP and IOP programs treating all types of eating disorders.
Lizzy specializes in treating OCD, panic disorder, specific phobias, and eating disorders. She utilizes Exposure and Response Prevention therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to address her clients' concerns in the most effective way. Lizzy aims to provide a space where her clients feel safe to connect with their emotions and themselves, and learn to live their lives in a way that feels authentic to who they are.
