Lisa Davis is licensed in Rhode Island as an LMHC.   She has a Masters in Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johnsons and Wales University and graduated in 2018. She also has a Masters in Elementary and Special Education from Lesley University which she earned in 1993.  Lisa worked as a special educator for over 8 years and has worked in NYC, Cambridge, and Brookline, Massachusetts and has extensive knowledge in IEP generation and the IEP process.

She has worked with families to help them understand and advocate for their special needs students. Throughout her practice as an educator and therapist, Lisa has continued working with children and young adults on the autism spectrum. Lisa has worked as an in-home therapist and outpatient therapist for over five years and has extensive experience with crisis management, dual diagnosis, anger management, women who have left abusive relationships, parenting, parent and child conflict.

Lisa also has expertise in working with mood disorders and thought disorders, anxiety, and depression. She also sees patients diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder.  She continues to see clients who have gender dysphoria. She also enjoys working with the LGBTQIA+ community and has experience working with transgender clients. She is a skilled diagnostician and works to help clients understand their diagnoses.

Lisa uses evidence-based therapy including CBT, ACT, DBT mindfulness, and meditation in her work with college-aged adults, adults and families, and couples. She has an eclectic style and works to meet the needs of all of her clients.
