Specialized Geriatric, Couples, Family and Individual Telehealth Psychotherapy in Connecticut
SCP: Psychiatry, Behavioral Health, and Weight & Wellness (SCP) is now pleased to offer remote, expert specialized psychotherapy services to couples and families, adults, and older adults in Connecticut. Our team includes Dr. Abigail Mansfield Marcaccio and Dr. Thomas Sheeran, who have served on faculty at The Alpert Medical School of Brown University and Weill Cornell Medical College, publishing peer-reviewed research in their field. Their decades of clinical and research expertise reflect a deep commitment to advancing mental health through both practice and research.
Dr. Mansfield Marcaccio https://www.southcountypsychiatryri.com/meet-our-team/abigail-mansfield-marcaccio-phd/ specializes in individual therapy and couples and family therapy. Her research, published in journals such as Psychotherapy Research, Family Process, and the American Journal of Psychotherapy, includes the development of the Brief Assessment of Family Functioning Scale (BAFFS) and the Brief Multidimensional Assessment Scale (BMAS), which facilitate a more accurate understanding of individual and family well-being. She helps individuals and families identify their core values and put them into practice in everyday life and in their most meaningful relationships.
Dr. Sheeran https://www.southcountypsychiatryri.com/meet-our-team/thomas-sheeran-phd/ specializes in geriatric mental health, working with middle-aged to older adults and their families who are facing the challenges that come with life transitions and getting older. His research has been published in journals such as JAMA Internal Medicine, Telemedicine and e-Health and Psychiatric Services. His geriatric research has always focused on mental health care of older adults living in the community and finding ways to improve access to and quality of care.
